David Golding and Jacob Baker to serve as the 2009-2010 President and Vice President (May 2009): We're proud to announce that David Golding, a Master's student in History of Christianity, will serve as the President of CMSSA during the 2009-2010 academic school year. Jacob Baker, a PhD student in Philosophy of Religion and Theology, will join him on the CMSSA's leadership council as this year's Vice President. Both have shown a strong commitment to CMSSA and Mormon Studies and will provide the group with excellent leadership as it builds upon the foundations that have been laid over the past two years. We'd also like to thank Diedre Green (President), Lon Huntsman (Vice President), Rob Hellebrand (Secretary), Loyd Ericson (Events), Devon Grow (Treasurer), and David Golding (Public Relations) for their great work last year!

Patheos and the Mormon "Gateway" (May 2009): Founded in 2008, Patheos.com is positioning itself to be the premier online destination to engage in the global dialogue about religion and spirituality and to explore and experience the world's beliefs. Patheos is designed to serve as a resource for those looking to learn more about different belief systems, as well as participate in productive, moderated discussions on some of today's most talked about and debated topics.
Of particular interest to students and scholars of Mormonism is the Mormon "Gateway." Managed by Ben Spackman, he hopes that the gateway, or section of information, will provide a forum to explore Mormon beliefs and history; enrich the global dialogue on religion and spirituality; experience Mormonism, both online and off, through a variety of academic and inspirational resources; and engage in intra-faith discussion. New Mormon Studies Conferences Website (September 2008): The newly launched (9/4/2008) mormonconferences.org is intended to be a comprehensive clearinghouse for conferences of all types related to Mormon Studies. No matter what your level of interest, if you want to know what's happening in the field, this should certainly prove to be an invaluable resource. [visit site]
